Overview
Nazareth Village is an interpretive experience rather than an ancient biblical site itself. It uses archaeology, reconstructed buildings and costumed demonstrations to introduce visitors to first-century agriculture, homes, crafts and village life.
Biblical significance
Its value lies in context: it helps visitors imagine the ordinary environment in which Jesus grew up and in which many of His agricultural illustrations would have been immediately understood.
Historical background
The attraction was developed around archaeological remains and ancient agricultural features to help visitors visualise the cultural context of the Gospels.
What you will see
Reconstructed homes, a synagogue setting, olive presses, agricultural terraces, traditional crafts and demonstrations of village life.
