Overview
Few locations are as closely associated with the ministry of Jesus as the Sea of Galilee. Towns such as Capernaum, Magdala and ancient fishing communities surrounded its shoreline.
Biblical significance
Jesus called fishermen here, taught beside the water, calmed storms, walked on the sea and crossed it repeatedly with His disciples.
Historical background
Known by several names in Scripture, including the Sea of Chinnereth and Sea of Tiberias, the lake has supported fishing communities and settlements for millennia.
What you will see
Elion groups experience the lake from the water by boat, surrounded by the hills of Galilee and many of the settings associated with Jesus' ministry.
